Lord of the Rings... Kinda. by TheNamelessDoll Lord of the Rings... Kinda. by TheNamelessDoll
This was requested by Isamisa! isamisa.deviantart.com/ 8D

It took a life time to collect all the material I wanted to use, but eventually I got them all (POKEMON!).

Screencaps from Treasure Planet, Beauty and the Beats, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas 1 & 2, The Swan Princess, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Cinderella 2, Peter Pan 2, Anastasia, Quest for Camelot and The Sword in the Stone

I love this! I love LotR and you did a great job putting this together. Just two things. I think you should have chosen a softer expression for Jim/Frodo, because in every poster he doesn't really look mad or stern. He always has this blank or right-before-scared face.
i love Aragorn, but who is he?

Thank you! :D
I know that "Frodo" dose not have his famous puppy-dog-eyes but at the time when I made this I was too dostracted with simply finding a shot of Jim from the front. XD
John Smith, with a stubble and brown hair! X3

Interesting attempt. I wouldn't mind giving this film a watch, actually.

Fun fact: Disney was origonally going to make LotR into an animated film during the 60's-70's. But they couldn't get the rights on time due to other studios wanting to adapt the books as well (including The Beatles). In the end, the rights were given to Ralph Bakshi by Tolken's daughter, which left Disney with nothing to adapt. Instead, they settled on another fantasy series: "The Chronicles of Prydain", which became "The Black Cauldron".

Thanx! ;D

I wonder if their Lord of the Rings would have been as big of a flop as The Back Cauldron would have been. One of the reasons to why TBC fell flat was because of the last minute censoring, which took away a lot from the film, making it seem unfinished. Wonder if the same would have happened if that had made LOTR? O_o

Perhaps, depending on what time it was originally planned to be released. It's a shame the film flopped. Had they kept most of the original cut intact, it might've been a slightly better film. Instead, they chickened out and butchered it to fit a PG rating.

I mean, why not make an animated film targeted towards adults? Every studio has a least one or two films for an older audience (including Ghibli and Pixar), so why not Disney? It seems like they're too scared to take that chance.
